Removing the passenger wheel is the best (and easiest) way to replace just the Serpentine Belt too. Thanks for your knowledgeable video... it made it easy on my 2007 Grand Caravan

Couple things, once the belt is loose take off the tensioner so you don't have to fiddle with.... wrap the new belt around the tensioner before bolting it back on. Oh and I don't think I would be worrying about my AC if my belt brakes! Good video, thx!

Well done! One tip however, setting the parking brake will make removal and torquing the wheel nuts much more accurate.

My son-in-law tried to do it without watching the video. And had an utter failure. Now he's ready to try it your way and says that looks a whole lot easier than what he was doing!

Great video! Do you know if this would be the same for 2000 Chrysler Voyager? I just had a mechanic tell me going to be a four hour job and he hopes he doesn't have to remove the motor mount. I thought that was a little too much for just the belt. Now I'm wondering if I need a new mechanic.

A smallish pipe wrench will work to loosen the pully tensioner, just hook it on the farthest little end.

Great video tutorial. One thing I noticed was that in your list of tools you stated a 10mm wrench to remove the negative battery cable. The cable however was not removed. Hmm

Warning: If you live in a rust belt state, make sure the belt tensioner can be easily removed by hand. If you can't, do not attempt to remove it. The pin will snap off.

No corrosion. Must be nice. I will attempt this tomorrow. Tried to replace my EGR after it caused a code. Removing the alternator was uneventful. But, the EGR was frozen to the head. I inended on replacing the alternator and EGR. I chose to leave both of them. The idler and tensioner are very corroded. Don't know how it will go. Made end up returning all the parts I bought. We will see.

Was this done by pulling pressure or actually turning the serpentine toward you

The tensioner locking post snapped off inside the block.

How did you know it was bad? What kind of noise was it making. I have a 06 grand caravan and I am getting a growling noise. A/C seems fine, power steering seems fine, water pump is not leaking. Hoping it's just these parts. Alternator is up front. Noise is coming from the middle to rear.

I had the belt, idler, and tensioner all changed about 6 months ago, it was quite then started chirping again. I was told it could be caused by a sheen on the pulleys, but I am not so sure. Any one have any other ideas?

It turned out to be the harmonic balancer.

I wish I could do this in less than 8 minutes! I also wish I knew if the tensioner is my problem! (But, mine is an 05 Grand Caravan)
