Kody Brown You're welcome. That water pump is a bear of a job. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Started the job this weekend and have been working off and on for about 10 hours. Tomorrow i get to start the reassemble. New waterpump, timing belt, all three seals and changing the plugs while im greasy. Id say ive put 12 hours in so far. Im hopin it goes back on a lot quicker. How much time Would you say you put into it?

Kody Brown When the crankshaft seal went it was the dead of winter. I did the work for short stretches over maybe 7 to 10 days in an unheated garage in Wisconsin so it would be hard to estimate total time. I would say you are making good time on the job.It will go back on much faster!

Easiest way to remove rear plugs simply remove air filter assembly, then you can get to all plugs,easy from the top side! Took me 5minutes!

Thanks, great video, very helpful to change the plugs and wires in my mother in law's 2000 Caravan 3.0 ltr. It was too frustrating trying to get at the #1 plug underneath without a hoist. So I took your advice and removed the alternator and I also removed the wiper tray to get to the #1 plug, only added another 35 minutes to R & R both those items.

I'll take a guess. For anyone who comes across this, the end of my wire was stuck on the plug. Had to remove it with pliers before putting the socket on. If this happens on the rear set of plugs, good luck.

Can the plugs in the back be reach by raising the van high on hydraulic lift system? Removing the belt and alternator are more work.

+XP Maybe. Sure would be great to have a try at it that way.

Spend the extra money and install iridium plugs. They last at least three times longer than the standard copper.

I've a 1996 3.0L, I can replace all the plugs from above, I don't go under the vehicle. Don't know why you can't.

Daniel Leung Good for you. I found it easier to get that last one from underneath.

It may not be so bad if you remove the wiper assembly to get at the back bank of plugs. That's what I would do now.
@crettybocker10 жыл бұрын
why would you use cheap ass plugs on a motor that is so hard to get to the back plugs makes no sense id use iridium so i dont have to do them for a 100k those back plugs are no fun man
@TheOriginalMechanic10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and you're right. Anyone else out there doing this job: Install iridium *!#*!!!#!!
