How many kilometers from new you can get maximum out of this water pump, as i have a 1.7 D Opel mokka 2012.

It was about 320,000km in the engine when I replaced the water pump.

I have a Vauxhall Astra 1.4 litre 1996-98, 5 Door Hatchabck. I had a timeing belt replaced in 2015. Stll brand new, only done about 200 miles of driving since. My water pump seems to be not working, and the engine tends to overheat, but cools when I turn the radiator on early. I was told by the Garage that they will have to replace the timing belt (still new), and thermostat (I have a new one in a bag), in order for them to replace the water pump and be charged a TON of money that seems only takes a couple hours. Your fantastic video gives me the impression that its not easy, and not difficult, but you have to be careful. Is it necessary to replace everything and get a garage to do it, along with £400 asking fee. Thanks, anytime.

Your older 1.4 petrol engine will be considerably easier to change the belt of than this 1.7 cdti, mainly due the the extra space you have to work with - However, the water pump in THIS video is NOT driven by the timing belt, its driving by the auxiliary belt (V belt (in old school terminology, the fan belt)) and does not require a lot of work. Yours will require ensuring the cam(s) - very different depending on whether you have 8v or 16v engine - and crank etc are locked on the right position, engine mount will need removed and lots of other tricky bits to consider.... A good, experienced Vauxhall mechanic can do this job in 60-90 minutes... An amateur DIY mechanic, anything up to 6 or 7 hours... But if you don't know what you're doing then this isn't a job to guess at, one wrong tooth replacing the belt and you could destroy the engine. In tefms of it only having done 200 miles, that's irrelevant... In actual fact, that will have done more harm than good... Engines are mechanical machines, designed with regular operation in mind. Materials are chosen based on specific properties and the belt, if not used, will dry up and crack over time... If I had a car that had been sitting for 5 to 10 years (or more) having only covered 200 miles, I would be disconnecting the battery and cranking it by hand for a few revolutions to makes sure that a) it hasn't seized and b) the belt won't snap when turned over.

i changed the belt on my 2009 crti 1.7 did,nt get supplied with thw washer that sit behond the tensioner so when i tightened the 17 milimiter nut it locked the tensioner against the engine because there was no washer supplied that sits behind the tensioner to stop it getting locked against engine i now need 16 valves head gasket new belt and tensioner with the said missing washer

Feszítő és vezető görgő porvédő finoman ellehet távolítani s egy kis fris zsírral meglehet kínálni. De A porvédő nem sérűlhet mert kiveri a zsírt. Persze akkor ha még jó.
