I'm told there is a second thermostat in my 2000 nissan pathfinder se vg33? you refer to one?
@oscarladino64712 жыл бұрын

Very useful information, but my 2002 Pathfinder's thermostat is built into the housing; it's one piece. Now what about the rear thermostat?
@samirizquierdo5843 жыл бұрын
my pathfinder started to heat up. I turbed it off when it was almost 3 quarters hot. I checked all over and there was no leaks anywhere. I let it cool off and checked the coolant level and it was missing very little. I topped it off. and drove it for about 20 minutes and it didnt heat up. The temp stayed below the half mark where it usually is. May this be a thermostat issue or a bad water pump. Some feedback would be appreciated.

+Samir Izquierdo We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Your video provides great educational training and great video captured techniques. The best of the best hands-on video (5 stars). Do you have any video to troubleshoot and repair coolant leak for Nissan SUV extera 2001?

The best tutorial video where he takes all sorts of things apart unnecessarily, just to film the video "better," and doesn't even explain this anywhere except for 21 minutes into the video! That's not going to waste anyone's time, or anything

Great video. Though I don't own this type of vehicle, it was very educational and clear to a novice like me.

Does this also apply to the 3.5L engine on a 2002 Pathfinder?
@1AAuto6 жыл бұрын
At this moment, this is the closest how-to video we have to your vehicle, which is very similar to the one you have. The steps may not be 100% the same, but should contain an adequate amount of information necessary for accomplishing this task.
@nimnestl5 жыл бұрын
No, it does not. It doesn't apply to 01-04 US domestic market Pathfinders, as they're all 3.5's. Typical 1A Auto bs phishing title.

@@1AAuto On the 3.5L (R50) motor, there are two thermostats. One is at the front of the motor next to the water pump, and the other is at the back of the block, under the entire intake manifold.

No gasket for the thermostat housing ? Just RTV?
@1AAuto4 жыл бұрын
+Supreme0777777 That is correct. You may notice that the housing in the video had RTV on it and no gasket. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com

Does not cover r50 pathfinder. And, none of that other stuff has to come out. Not even the plastic shroud. I just did one. It does require some blind bolt inserting. I recommend you change the hose clamps, for the screw type. Also, a mirror will help..
@josemanuelgarcia76594 жыл бұрын
Really? I was wondering the same thing. Replacing mine tomorrow and didn't want to remove all of the above. I'll give it a try on my r50

SO I HAVE TO REMOVE ALL THAT STUFF JUST TO CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT?!?!?
@katielyb4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. But that's just the thermostat in the front though. There's an additional one that's even more difficult to replace behind the motor on the driver's side. It's referred to as a "water valve" but is just your basic run of the mill thermostat.
@soundthecymbals2 жыл бұрын
Haha actually no, and he even explains this, 21 minutes in. How nice

What bleeding procedure?
@katielyb4 жыл бұрын
You have to go through a process to make sure there are no air bubbles within the coolant system because it can cause a lot of problems. Generally you start your vehicle while filling with coolant so that the thermostat will open and the air bubbles will rise up to the radiator opening. They you put more coolant in and repeat until no more bubbles emerge. There are a few tricks to doing this but I'm not yet familiar.
