Very good video. A quiet garage helped to hear the gentle clicks. The engine started perfect first time. Thanks.

Great video. Now he just needs a new serpentine belt, because that one has many cracks on it and is ready to go out

Awesome video. I just slapped a new one in mine tonight, had that initial rattle while the new tensioner got oil into it and now it’s gone like you said. I had bad rattle on startup for a few seconds every time before installing the new one tonight and that’s all cleared up now. THANK YOU!

Thanks man, again just for the review of this component, havent done it for many years, about 7 i think. This helps a lot. Also the serp. belt in this vid of yours is ready for replace also. Again thank you, see you to other vids.

Hi Ty u for the vid! What is the worst that can happen if you at the beginning of this procedure, you didn’t release the pressure by turning the harmonic balancer and the crank bolt? I ask this because a lot of other vids don’t do this pressure releasing step. Ty again!

Hello friend, good video, a question before removing the chain tensioner, did you place the car on time?
On my 2010 Toyota Corolla repair manual said to release tensioner hook turn crankshaft to counterclockwise then clockwise. Now I have 2016 Toyota Corolla 2xr-fae should turn clockwise to release the hook

I did my 04 corolla step by step but I never heard the clicks. But so far is running great. Thanks for the videos. Please make a clutch flywheel replacement video
@JustJJ5555 ай бұрын
I heard the big click when I went counter clockwise, but nothing when going clockwise but it moves freely. I guess it popped the hook and set in place in one movement

Hello. Thanks for your video. One of the mount bolt got broken :( and now I have a big oil leak. Is there a way to replace the mounting bolt in an "easy" way? Thanks in advance.

I wish someone would show how to do this on a 2004 Rav4 without removing the engine. I'm having a tough time removing the wiring harness that covers the timing chain cover.

I didn't need this video yesterday while I was stripping the motor to replace the time chain. I did come across it when I was searching for info. I needed it tonight, now that I'm reassembling everything and needed to know how to release the tensioner. Great video. Much appreciated. A new Serpentine ? Lol. 😂

What indicates tensioner replacement? Other than oil leak at tensioner itself?

What do I do if it the rattling gets worse after starting the car the first time? What do I look for on the test drive? Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
@jonathanneill6107 Жыл бұрын
I just did a timing chain job and the chain is not tensioning with the new tensioner. Does it need to run to tension the chain fully? Just don’t want to finish assembling without being confident in it.

Probably should tell people they need to turn the engine to TDC, to avoid jumping a tooth.

Can that chain tensioner be a cause for a ticking noise? I’ve looked all over the internet and no one seems to have the same issue

Or you can simply add a 236 ml bottle of 'AT-205 RE-SEAL' to your engine oil and that should swell up the old o-ring and stop the leak.
