On this episode I'll show you how to change your motor mounts. On TOYOTA V8 and V6 vehicles, you really need to keep an eye on your motor mounts. A simple "wear" test is to lightly power-brake your engine with your hood open and to watch the engine. If it "clocks" excessively or even "bangs" and makes a metal-to-metal sound, you may have worn or busted mounts. Worn or broken motor mounts can cause excessive vibration, excess strain on wiring and hoses due to the engine clocking too far, and they can decrease throttle response.
You'll need a good mechanic's set of tools and a safe way to lift and secure your vehicle and engine so you can manipulate the subframe and motor enough to change the mounts.
