How to Replace Turbo charger Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2015 - DIY P0299 underboost

Hello everyone, here is a video of how to change your Turbo charger on my Land Rover evoque pure 2015. I believe the procedure is similar on this models. I had the clips saved for two years and decided to finally edit them as much as I can to show you how to change the turbo. I spend around $800 versus the $3000 it would have at a mechanic shop. Just be cautious and have a lot of patient and follow the procedure step by step.
Turbo Charger with manifold gasket from Amazon:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ONE YOU REMOVE ITS THE SAME ONE AS THE ONE YOU BUY BECAUSE THERE IS TWO MODELS. ONE HAS EXTRA HOSES ATTACHED AND THE OTHER ONE DOES NOT. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE PICTURES OF THE TURBO ON AMAZON:

You are welcome! Just make sure it’s the same turbo the you remove from your car I believe there is a couple of different types. It will show you on the Amazon link 🤙

Again I'm what you call a backyard mechanic my father taught me a lot but I've never done a Turbo charger the one thing I wish I would I would have seen any of the videos and i must say none was nowhere near as good as you're. I wish that people would mention how you need to make sure you have new crush washers and things like that and never change one so I didn't even think about it and honestly I Was ordering parts offline and found that the dealer had a lot of them and they were oddly cheaper.

Great video. Thank you! After installing I am experiencing an "overboost" situation which disables the turbo until a restart. Is there a way to adjust the boost after installation?

Happy to hear you were able to replace your own turbo! I didn’t need to adjust anything after installation on my Range Rover, maybe keep driving it and it eventually will relearn the new engine power

Turbo underboost, but one of the intake lines needed to be more tight

Is the process the same on the 2.2?

I believe is the same process but I would just take it as a reference since the 2.2 is the turbo diesel engine
