Hi. Thanks for your videos. I noticed that the fuser unit of my old HP 1100 was making noise. Upon inspection, I saw that a thin layer on top of the lower pressure roller was starting to peel. I pulled off as much of the peeling layer as possible to stop the noise. Is the lower pressure roller likely to be damaged now that most of the peeling top layer has been removed? If so, is there a way to fix this without buying new parts, since this is an old printer and not worth further investment?

Once a part of the rollers (fusing or pressure) is damaged you have to replace it to prevent the unit from further damage. If you don't replace the roller it will get worse with your device.
