I have been coming to here to learn how to do so many things by myself for months and I finally ordered some parts from 1A! I replaced my first battery ever a few months ago and am going to do my washer fluid tank today. Next up will be my power window switch. Thanks for all the great videos! You're saving me hundreds of dollars.

I want to thank you for this video. The Chilton's Manual doesn't help at all. Without your video I would be lost. Thank God for people like you.

This was super helpful, though I ended up pulling the whole pump out when trying to disconnect it. I put the new one in to stop the fluid from running out and then reattached the power supply at the end. Lost some fluid but it worked. Why I didn't do this ages ago I have no idea!

First off, thanks for helping those who dare to DIY. Second, hate to admit it, but no one wants to empty a perfectly full fluid container so it's really cool of you to post video with fluid still in reservoir. I will say you could zoom in a bit more on certain parts where it's not as clear what's being pried (a clip, clamp, or just separating two parts). Hey, well done and thank you.

This is an informative video, but it seems to me that it would have been easier to either siphon the windshield wiper reservoir completely before installing the new pump or to just let the rest of the fluid drain into the pan.
@1AAuto8 жыл бұрын
+jeffthewhiff Yeah, either of those methods would work too, you're right. This way is just a little quicker, and it saves a couple bucks worth of washer fluid. That's a good tip. Thanks for posting it. 1aauto.com?KZbin&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393

1A Auto, thanks, this video looks like my 05 Jetta. I take it VW must of started making a different style Jetta in 05.

Hopefully you will still reply to comments but what should the hole that you plug the pump into? I just replaced my pump but it is leaking like crazy? Should there be a gasket or something there?
@JaimeMartinez-hd5nv3 жыл бұрын
The gasket might have fallen into the reservoir, thars what happened to me

What if it’s one of the tube connectors to the pump that’s leaking and not the actual pump itself? How does one replace that piece?

Do you guys just sell the hose? From the pump to the sprayers
@1AAuto6 жыл бұрын
+Nemesis X We currently do not. Usually you can go to your local auto parts store and they will cut you a piece off of a roll that they carry. You may want to bring a sample with you so that they can match it up. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

i did this but the water barely comes out.. i can see the pump working but it works until it ejects the water hose and starts leaking.. any ideas?

how can i tell whether i need a new washer pump or if the wiper hose is clogged?
@1AAuto8 жыл бұрын
You can remove the the hose from the nozzle to see is anything comes out of the hose. If it does, the nozzle might be bad. Hope this helps you out 1aauto.com

i will try that

i know this is a bit late, but you can also tell if you are operating the pump ( via the handles on the steering column ) and you hear no sound of the pump. this means the pump isnt working or isnt getting power or whatever
