This helped me. But it took me a while to get off my wipers and the cowl because I have a 2000 VW Beetle, and it was dirty and had never been removed. So I had to use WD40 and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then I had to wiggle them a lot to get them loose enough to remove. Same with the cowl.

Question - My 2000 Beetle is dirty under this area, just like this car is around the yellow areas on the sides under the hood. How can I safely clean those areas? Just use soap and water?
