Great video after 6 years. Thanks for being to the point and not making one of those videos where the narrator says "okay, I'm putting the glove on my left hand by picking it up with my right hand and starting with my left thumb," etc. You get my drift. Nicely done

Soldering ends of the wires is best practice takes more time but the connection is much more conductive. ⚡⚡⚡
@kb-zealotАй бұрын
From what I understand soldering is worse in cases where the electrical system is subject to vibration, like in a car, because the connection tends to become brittle and crack over time
@kb-zealotАй бұрын
This was helpful, thanks. My trailer lights have been glitchy: sometimes working and sometimes not, and after replacing the plug they now work well (at least today, time will tell), but it was good to see the steps. And if you don't mind some constructive criticism: it'd be good to see you screwing the wires into their connectors, I hadn't encountered that kind of connection before, in fact I didn't know there was such a thing, I assumed crimping and soldering were the only 2 ways that a couple wires could be connected.

Don’t cut the wire bundle as in this video. Simply unscrew to expose the wires that are already stripped and slide the housing unit down

No screw with the original plug on my 2004. The only option is to cut it off. But i also like to work with freshly exposed wire on any wiring work, when time permits.

Wired it just like you said. Now my right blinker turns on both blinkers, and the left blinkers blink super fast. Any thoughts? I’ve quadruple checked the wiring but i must’ve made a mistake somewhere
@AntonioGadea-c8i8 ай бұрын
there are two configurations for the 7-pin trailer plug, the SAE J2863 and the traditional RV blade connection, on the SAE the left turn is yellow, the right turn is green, the tail lights are brown, the positive is orange or red, and the center pin is reverse, black or purple. the traditional is the one in this video
