Please don't be confused, the message on the iOS app "Security Panel Low Battery" doesn't always mean you need to replace battery on the security panel. It can be a battery of any other device, for instance in the siren. In order to check which device requires battery replacement you should press "*2" and rotate the menu to see it.

This helped me remove the yellow warning light "triangle" on the display. By resetting the device, using the installer code and removing power, including batter backup... the system reset and I no longer have the yellow warning signal anymore. Without this, I would have never guessed to remove battery backup.

Mine was doing this too (beeping because of bad battery) - I unplugged the bad battery and it stopped but now I have a yellow triangle in the display (needs service). I ordered a new battery and hopefully everything goes back to normal once it is installed.

This video omits a critical step - removing the cover screw from the bottom center of the panel before prying the panel cover loose. Removing that cover screw is not at all easy. I wish this video would show how to do that.

My model does not have a screw. Process for mine worked exactly as shown in video.

That's because there is no screw in the "center middle" to remove. @ :25 into the video it clearly shows how to remove the panel. Literally that is all that needs to be done to remove it.

So I bought a brand new battery, and followed the instructions to a 'T', but as soon as I plugged the new battery in......nothing. It's like the new battery is dead. Is this normal? Form what I've read, the unit should power back up immediately upon replacing the 7.2V battery. Am I missing something?

OK, that is nothing more than a custom DSC CONTROL made for ADT. DSC makes some awesome alarm equipment that is reasonably priced but they can be a dit finicky to program.

check that the triangle isnt on for another reason. like a loss of communication, a door open, a low battery in a sensor, etc...

@@Vanessajbee If you replaced yours and it plugged in fine don't worry about it. I've heard of it taking time for the battery to fully charge but I don't know how long is too long There is a cord that comes off the battery pack and plugs directly into the circuit board. It has 2 females on the cord itself and the 2 male pin connector is on the internal circuit board. They make a 3 pin connector version of this battery which will not fit.

There is a tamper switch on the back of the keypad against the wall that might not be pressed in enough. If the wall is not flat or if the keypad isnt secure against the wall it might do that. Can you check and maybe put an extra screw in?

I have a similar question and still have a low battery notice. I have also kept the battery in the panel well over 72 hours ( ~ 1 month ). Obviously I need to fix this immediately but I'm still having trouble finding a new backup battery and still questioning if the one I purchased is good.

Assure you don't have another wireless keypad like a WTK5504 in the system. These also have a battery in the unit and can appear as "Keypad 1" in the trouble which can cause confusion. Replacing that battery should clear the trouble assuming the main keypad battery tested out.

no it has saved memory like if you turned off a computer and turned it back on again. At the most you might have to update the time on the keypad.
