How to replace your clockspring in your Holden VY Commodore!
Considering this job deals with the airbag inflation system, take extra precaution and be sure to remove the negative terminal off the battery at a minimum. thank you so much for making this video i just today finnaly fixed my srs light in the vy. ripped a clock spring out of a old vt and went and used my adld cable by envyouscustoms cleared the code horn works and now i can focus on fixing the interior sunglass holder lights Agin bro cheers for the knoledge

Does a vt/vx clock spring work in a vy? And was it any good how long did it last

just be sure to remove carefully and watch a video about how to line it up and what not to do ect clock springs are fragile

I have the airbag error all I did was pull the airbag fuse it does not beep at me anymore and I just had a little SRS airbag light come on I'm ok with that I've tried plugging in the scan tool to clear the error it does not recognise the Sistema can't communicate with it

Similar process, I think they use more torx screws/ bolts though :)

connected everything up and my horn is now controlled by my steering wheel buttons instead of the horn 😂😂

Similar setup but I think VS has bolts holding the airbag on from the back, similar to VX I'm pretty sure 🤔

does it clear itself from the system after first startup, or do you need the code reader for that?

It will still say you have an SRS issue on first startup, once cleared from a scan tool, it will recognise everything is operating as it should :)

Either use a ALDL cable or have a mechanic/Repco clear the code for you :)
