Good video, my car was having a bit of trouble (slow starting) which happened at the same time of the belt squeaking, now it won’t start at all so I’ve just ordered the kit and I’ll be following your video during the process for sure! Does it matter if the plastic power steering pump pulley is accidentally spun at all? Or any of the pulleys for that matter? I’m slightly worried about accidentally spinning them when the old belt is removed haha I need some reassurance that I’m not going to permanently disable my vehicle 😂 With the symptoms I’ve had I’m ASSUMING this belt is the issue anyway.
@Realpreshaanb5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your support to the channel 🙏🏼 it means a lot. Secondly no it doesn't matter if you turn the engine over Manually, be it the pulleys either on the crank or power steering pump, you will need to turn the engine over Manually to get the power steering belt back on either way as it is a stretch belt 👌🏼 I hope this helps and that your car's issue is resolved soon 🙏🏼
@jamess84075 жыл бұрын
Preshaan Briglall you don’t need to thank me, I’m grateful for the video and help you provide. So I must thank you. I cut the current belt off only to realise I was sent the wrong replacement belt 😩 so now I have a car with no belts at all haha I’m not replacing the tensioner...but I assume it’s okay to keep the current one on and just replace the belt? 🤔

It still made noise when you turn on a car; after you repleaced the belt. Is that normal?
@Realpreshaanb6 жыл бұрын
Little squeaks are normal... As it settles in, the noise reduces. Since i replaced the belt, the noise has gone
@josiptadic83016 жыл бұрын
@@Realpreshaanb I replaced both belts, water pump,crank pulley, tensioner pulley and only after I replaced all those things the noise appeared. Today I changed the alternator belt again after 2 weeks because it started to make squealing when warm, but I bought little shorter belt so it's not squeling but that start-up noise appears sometimes. Checked tensioner and other pulleys, mehnanics says that he has no clue.
@Realpreshaanb6 жыл бұрын
Is the start up noise a short squeak or it is like how my car was in the beginning of the video, because if its a little squeak, it's nothing major, my car makes that noise since i bought it and even after changing the crankshaft pulley damper...

I have the same kind of metalic noise when i start the car. It came after i replaced belt tenaioner, idler pulley and bothe belts. Have you discovered the cause of this sound? I read somewhere on the blog that the was related to timing chain guide issue. It’s really annoying. Have you solved this issue? Would be very grateful to hear from you. Thanks for the video👍🏻
@Realpreshaanb5 жыл бұрын
After i Changed the belts and the pulleys the noise gradually went away, I've noticed that slight squeak when switching off is common as its happens on a lot of cars I've seen, i haven't noticed anything from the timing Chain guide so I can't comment on that. I do however need to replace the power steering belt and the secondary idler pulley since that makes a bit of a noise now and then
