took my strut off with the broken spring, took it to my local garage with new spring and new bearing ,that had a hydraulic press fitted it all for me ,,for £5 took it home fitted strut on car job done

I replaced the springs on a MK2 C3 using spring clamps, but I used two sets due to the amount of compression needed; I know what you mean when you say you don't feel safe using them. Great video 👍

For a home game it is a good tool, just be saved and don't do stupid things.

@@TheDutchGarage Sure does. I just managed to change two coil springs with two jacks and some rope as my compressors are out on loan! I have all my fingers! Thanks for the vid.

Brilliant video - I wasn't looking forward to that job - I don't like working on modern cars (yes, the Berlingo is modern in my mind) - anyway, the job went really well, thanks for an excellent video. I used 4 spring compressors - don't trust those springs, they're very.........springy!!!!!!

Hi can you tell me the size of the hex on the spindle on the top mount, I've tried a 7mm but it felt a bit loose, I tried to windy gun the nut off but didn't come off

Sorry, I don't know anymore. Try a 8, or maybe it could be a torn and not an allen (hex).

Hi. I've just realised that I've had some oil dripping from the area of the driveshaft whilst I was doing this job. Is this normal on these cars? It's not a lot but thought I'd ask. Thanks.

If it is on the gearbox side it is the oilseal that's worn. Be sure that you don't run the gearbox dry.

Het hoeft opzich niet, maar het is wel een geworstel worden om de schokdemper uit de hub te krijgen en er weer in.

@@TheDutchGarage tja dan toch maar de as en de draagarm loshalen, want ik heb linker voorwiel op te veel carber staan. volgens alles is de veerpoot te kort. Zou dit de oorzaak kunnen zijn ???

Thank you, cheap bearings are a hit or mis is my experience. I just use brands I trust like SKF or FAG.

Springcompressors are a must. A hammer for everything else 😉

Ik wil één veer van mijn peugeot partner uit 2002 vervangen. Maar ik zie allemaal verschillende lengtes en diktes als ik op mijn kenteken 68-bb-kz zoek. Welke moet ik hebben? Zover ik weet zijn het de originele veren.

Je moet kijken naar het laadvermogen en als er wel of geen airco op zit. In het ergste geval bestel al de varianten. Degene die je niet gebruikt breng je weer terug.

Ik vermoed het haast wel, je zou voor de zekerheid de dikte van de veer kunnen opmeten. En zien wat er in de buurt komt.

@@TheDutchGarage dikte van mijn veer is 14 mm. Dikste veer die ik kan krijgen is 13,2. Dan moet ik die hebben zeker?

Why not undo the drive shaft and steering arm and remove it that way save beating it off with hammer and struggling putting it back

That is a fair question. The main reason is time and change of damaging other parts. Time: be course you have to remove the lower ball-joint, tie rod end driveshaft and brake caliper. End most of the time the tie rod ends and ball-joints are really in there. Also the driveshaft nuts are most of the time one-time-use only so you need to get a other one.

@@TheDutchGarage the brake caliper can stay where it is as for the tie rod depends on the car but some not all you can just remove driveshaft from the hub

@@rockyfish3115 There are different solutions for the same problem. Just do what you do think is best. I don't think the is a right or wrong way.
