that there oil spot on your air filter means you have a bad PCV valve, it's like $5 and takes 10 minutes to replace. keep up the good work!

Yeah, already been replaced. The old beater also eats oil. Either valve guides or rings. I'll fix it some day

so what are you two doing with pipe wrenches? when you took the gears off timing must have been correct with in a degree or two. by turning the cam/crank are you not fucking over your timing? is this an interference engine?
