How to reposition the needle on an analog gauge

This is a short video showing how to reposition the needle on an analog gauge if you don't have the specialty needle removal tool.

With all other vids showing pulling it apart and crushing parts with pliers.... This was a god send. My gage arrived -10 and without a screw on the needle. I was just about to start pulling it apart when I seen this. My needle come off with just finger pressure and it was repositioned in 4 seconds. Thank you.

I have that specialty tool and I couldn't get the damn needle off. Maybe you could explain what I'm doing wrong?

John, can you send a pic of the gauge you are working on? There are a lot of different gauges out there. You may have one which is a bit unusual?
