Inspirational! Since 2017, my potted steph and hoya in beautiful inherited jardiniere have become my family... from the pits you have inspired me to repot and introduce youngsters to the family! I live in 16C cottage and just need a big conservatory!! I love your presentation!

It looks absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had known to do this when I first got my plant about 20 years ago. Now I fear I will never get it untangled because it is just one huge twisted bundle now;-))

@@WesleysPlantWorldactually, I was inspired by you to order a 1-m long stake and will be training the new vines up that but leaving the rest alone;-)) At some point I will need to repot but it is in a big terracotta pot already and I wouldn't know where to put it other than the windowsill where it is now.

Do you recommend putting multiple plants up a pole like that? I’ve got a couple monstera and they are so bare on their own climbing… could I put more than one monstera in a pot and they can share the pole?
@WesleysPlantWorld
@WesleysPlantWorld Жыл бұрын
You can absolutely put more plants than one in a pot. Oftentimes there are already more than one plant in a pot when you buy them. You’ll get a thicker more bushy effect that way as they are only thin vines as one plant vine. Have fun! 😃🪴

Hi! This is an awesome video! Its april 2021 here in US. I got the same exact plant and ive been thinking of repotting mine soon. I have to look for a stake that’s similar to what you got. I love plants and I see you got videos of other plants that ive been thinking of getting but too afraid to get it cuz im not sure how to care for them! So thank you very much for doing this video and sharing it to everyone! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😬🤓🤗

I bought this plant today, probably from the same producer because it is in an identical gray pot with the trellis. I will make sure to repot and stake it after it finishes flowering :)

What a great video, Wesley. Thank you. What do you call those totem poles. I think I want to buy some. I just unraveled my stephanotis. Some of the vines are 7 ft long. But mine seem to have leaves only at the ends, and the rest is a bare vine. I'm thinking of possibly cutting the vine and trying to propagate it from a stem cutting. But....afraid.

Thank you so much! The poles are coconut fiber and can be found in most plant stores or online, I bought them in local stores here in Sweden, Plantagen, Bauhaus, Blomsterland etc. They don't retain moisture though, they are just to give support. But, if you are in a humid environment, then plants can grow roots into them for sure. You could take stem cuttings. It would be fun to try, I'm sure they'd do well. Good luck with your experiments.

Oh, my goodness. I just severely cut back my stephanotis. and I then repotted it. Some of the vines were 7 or 8 feet long with only leaves on the ends. Wish me luck. I hope it survives, as I don't know if I can replace it as I have never seen it for sale in my area. I did take photos of the before. So, if I'm successful, I'll include before/after photos.

Hi! May I ask for advice on how to take care of it? Especially in winter when there are flowers? This is how I got it as a gift.
@WesleysPlantWorld
@WesleysPlantWorld Жыл бұрын
Hi! You need to make sure your plant has plenty of bright indirect light, especially if you want it to bloom for you over a longer period and after the first blooming when you buy it. Let it almost dry out between watering during the winter otherwise you will get yellowing leaves if too wet. Normal indoor humidity id fine for this plant all year around. Only feed it when growing. Temperature between 16-23c. Repot every 2-3 years, they don't like repotting too often. I hope this helps. Enjoy your lovely new plant :-)

Just found your fab video! I am going to repot my stephanotis but I have one question. Mine - like yours - looks like the original cuttings were planted in some sort of plug. I was going to try and take mine off the root ball. Was there any reason you didn't do this - maybe like it would have damaged some roots?
