THANK YOU! This works on the LG LHT764 factory reset too! Note that none of the functions were working, it was "stuck" on DVD after a power outage. Very few buttons responded from the remote. Pressed Setup, then held 0 on the remote and down/stop on the face plate (it's tricky on this model, because it's a touch-capacitive wheel). Voila! All functions can be setup again -- I just use this as basement audio now.

Your unit has a problem that can only be fixed at an LG service centre near you

My LHD 655 will reset and show E2P clear but switch off on rebooting. But problem is not solved I have problem of missing bluetooth, radio and usb functions i can only play dvd and aux. I took it to lg dealer in Nigeria i was told the bluetooth and motherboard is bad i was charged 110 dollars. I got this system 3 years ago for 190 dollars and it only had 2yrs warranty on Repair.

hi, my disc reader on my LG theatre stopped working lot of years ago. I then used it as an audio surrond connected to my ps3 and tv. worked fine for years. Suddenly, one night, the ldr update appeared, the the unit turned off. I can turn it on, but the same message appears. I managed with some luck to perform this reset, but when I turn on the device it still happens. Pushing input button randomly while turning on the device I finished on the radio and it worked for some seconds, then automatically turns off again, saying "goodbye", So it's not some hardware stuff, I think. Never connected to internet, as I said it worked as an audio system for years, even without using it as a blu ray reader for years. model hb 405 su. I would happily offer you a beer if you can help (or the equivalent if you don't drink :) ) Thanks.

1. Make sure there is no disc in the tray 2. Press and hold the stop button on the main unit and the digit zero on the remote control at the same time for around 5 seconds 3. Main unit will display E2P CLR and shut itself down meaning factory reset is done

Do some elimination by removing some speakers. The problem might be a shorted speaker. If it still switches off on its own then it may be a main board problem.

First try and disable the simplink feature on your TV. If that doesn't work then the motherboard is faulty and needs replacing.

Sound going down on it's own means that the motherboard needs to be replaced. The problem could have originated from a short circuit on of your speakers. Have them checked as well
