How to reset Toyota Prius C maintenance required

This is the proper way to reset the maintenance required screen for the 2012-2015 Toyota Prius c. Your owners manual tells you wrong and so does most youtube videos, but this is the right way.

Thank you for clarifying it. Others videos were wrong! Turn the key to On position Trip to ODO Turn the key off Then turn it key to On position Here is the important park. While the blue screen comes on. Hit the trip button 3 times, and hold it on the 3rd time. You will see the countdown-5,4,3,2,1 on the screen. Done!

- With vehicle turned on, make sure ODOMETER is showing in the display - If Trip A or Trip B is showing, keeping pressing the TRIP button (on steering wheel) until ODOMETER is shown - Turn off vehicle - Turn vehicle back on - While blue intro screen is playing on the display monitor, press TRIP button 3 times, holding down button on 3rd press - The numbers in the ODOMETER section should start counting down (555555, 444444, 333333, 222222, 111111, 000000) - Make sure you keep holding down the TRIP button during the entire countdown - After 000000, maintenence light should be reset

Tks Dain; I was getting confused over the "x3 quick presses, then hold" videos and such that I watched previous, until seeing this and "figuring-it-out". The x2 key take-aways for me, to finally "get-it", were: 1) Must turn-off engine/power in the "odometer setting" of the tripometer, not the other options...tripA, tripB, etc.... 2) Then it's x2 quick presses, then long press the 3rd press, right when you seen the blue-screen of the "turn-power-on" part of the ignition switch, (without turning-on the engine of course) I was pressing x3 times, then long-pressing, what would be a 4th press I guess; But the other videos had me confused, and I was un-able to make it work (kept changing the mph/kph toggle, instead of going straight to reset the maintenance data, b/c I wasn't doing the 1-2-long-press-3, sequence. At any rate, thanks for this very helpful video!

Turn key to on (not starting engine). Switch to Odometer by pressing trip key. Turn key off. Turn key so dashpanel comes on. When blue box comes on, press Trip key 2 times then press and hold for countdown. DONE!! 🙄OMG!

Once it turns with blue screen you push the bottom (trip) three times and hold on the last one and it will reset while holding on screen and count down till it passes 5,4,3,2,1

The problem is not just resetting it, we get how to do it. The problem is resetting it to come back on in 10K miles and or resetting it after it wasn't reset for a while after the oil was changed and to then custom set it to go off again at an interval you want. Does anyone know how to do this? If one of the steps is a visit to a massage parlor for a happy ending please do tell.

For my Prius C 3 (the one with keyless ignition), I first pressed the start button twice without my foot on the brake. Then I pressed the "Trip" button until "odo" (Odometer) showed, then I turned the power off by pressing the "Start" button again. After that, I again pressed the start button twice without the brake on. Immediately I pressed the "Trip" button three times quickly and held it after the third. The numbers counted down, and the screen was reset.

Instead of turning the key, you will push the start button twice without your foot on the brake. Push the "Trip" button 3 times.
