How to reset wifi password for gopro hero 3 plus

Thank you for this video. I was able to make the changes on my computer and then put the SD card into the GoPro3. As soon as I turned on the camera, it updated and I was able to link the camera to my phone via Quik. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been using the GoPro for more than 5 years without connecting it to my phone. It's like purchasing a new GoPro. Thank you. All the very best, Cheers Rick

Worked perfectly my man, great job. Follow his directions as seen. I made the mistake of not formatting my SD card beforehand, I didn't listen to the clip properly. Make sure you format your sd card before putting the UPDATE file in.

oh my took me 3 tries but once I made sure that the only folder on the sim card was named update and had only the 2 files in it and did the update on the go pro it worked, thank you so much, and great video, props to you, as other saaid not sure what I would do. just bought this Go pro and would be a bummer not to be able to use live view and connect to it.

It kinda worked, I guess the password should be at least 8 characters because when I'm putting less than 8, the update error shows up, but the moment I changed it to 8 characters it updated instantly. Now my only issue is that it connects and disconnects right away when I tried to pair it with the gopro app. I'll try to figure that out. Thanks, very helpful video.

If that app is not compatible with your device, it won't work. But I also used my phone by putting the SD card on my phone

Try making the password only 8 characters long. I had someone else said that's how they got the password to work

@@Elmas7kStudios I finally got it...hip hip hooray 😁😁😂 I found a reddit link that said on my particular model I had to just move 4 files to the root of the sdcard..no folder, if a folder is used on my model it wont take...ty immensely for all ur help & communications to get that issue resolved..I can now view what I'm filming in real time ..I had to download a old version of the gopro app due to I'm running the gopro on a android 5.0 & only smartphones for internet service..but hey it works & extremely well at that..ty again & many blessings to u & urs🤙❤👊😁😎👽🖖Hollaaaaa Hollaaaaa my friend

Same steps. Instead of putting the 'UPDATE' file on the root. Just put whatever is in the file in the root. Don't put the 'UPDATE' folder just whatever is inside. That's for the hero3. For the hero3 plus you do need to put the 'UPDATE' Folder

Did it work still or it still doesn't because it's not doing the update? If it's not working it's probably because you need to reset the camera and then try it again

When you inster the SD card back in the go pro. The go pro should be off. Then hold the record button on top of the go pro and hold it, and while holding it press and hold the power button on the front of the go pro and keep holding them until it turns on and it should say updating. Let me know if that works. If not it has to do with the UPDATE File. It happened to me before

I had to repeat the whole process like 5 times before I got it to work. Try making sure that in the sdcard there is only the "UPDATE" folder and make sure that if you have that folder it has the 2 other files in there. There can't be more than 2 update files. Is your go pro the hero 3 or the hero 3 plus?

Hi! I have an issue with my Quik App. Namely, I went through the update successfully. I managed to connect the app with my phone. But when I'm on the app "ready to capture" and "camera off" pop up. Nothing is displayed, even though the camera is on. None of the buttons work. I've tried to find some hints on the web. But all in vain. Could anyone help me out ? Thanks in advance.

Make sure >>> 1) the SSID and PASSWORD are 8 characters minimum. 2) the QUICK app is updated from Google Play. 3) Only the UPDATE folder (with the 2 files) is in the card. Mine worked with the file named update.10 (not when named update.11). Took me countless hours to get to this after scraping the internet. Thanks to CCP for getting me the last piece of my puzzle.

The first couple times I did it the update also didn't want to download. It kept giving me an error. But I made sure I deleted all the "UPDATE" files and tried it again and it worked. It took me like 5 tries of just trying to get the update to download

I have a Hero 3+, and this didn't work, but it was a great start with direct links to what "Marks" channel explained... However, you need to change the contents of the update.11.txt to update.10.txt for the Silver Hero 3+ model. BING BING. You also don't need to hold the shutter button. Just power on normally.
