So I take it this is not a very popular thing to do? Man, judging from the comments this video created a lot of hate and anger. I think the point that the haters are missing is that if you do not have the talent, desire, equipment or the time to properly refinish your guitar, this stuff is much faster and easier than all that painting. Plus with this stuff you can make the guitar anything you want. I did not pay that much attention to the original finish but perhaps it was scratched up or something and a guy just wanted to make it "look" good? I don't think you would see too many guys doing this to their Les Paul unless it was really bad, but then again there are idiots out there paying people to make their guitar look old. I would like to see and touch the finished product in person. I am just getting into customizing guitars and this would be a way to fix up something like a head stock? The question for me would be the top coat. Can you spray on or wipe on a poly or nitro clear coat? I don't think you could because there would be nothing for it to adhere to. Well I for one enjoyed the video, accept at the 5:30 mark where the caffeine kicked in on the editor and he changed the music to that.. whatever the heck it was supposed to be, crap. I am going right now to check out that link, as for the negative commenting people, haters gonna hate!

Wrapping a guitar also takes skill... At least having it make look good. Pretty sure that seam won't look appealing in real life. And what if you want to wrap both front and back? You'd have an even uglier seam. Most people that refinish their guitar do it because they think it's a fun process.

You know I rarely write anything bad on these videos. I'm of the belief if you cant say anything positive, dont say anything at all. That being said, this could have been so much better. There were visable bubbles in the wrap and the background track was somewhat annoying. Maybe give it another shot and eliminate the bubbles and change the background track. This would improve this quite a bit. The video and the concept of what you were trying to do was sound. Maybe just a little more practice before showing the world.
@logikylearguments68525 жыл бұрын
I'm not a big fan of the look or the music, but what I think you are referring to as bubbles are impressions in the vinyl over the holes where the pots and switches go. Once installed, they cover that part of the vinyl. At least I assume.
