Alycia although your advice is good your reasoning is bad; study Miss USA 2009 more closely and you'll see Carrie P was already losing the pageant because North Carolina had already beaten her in both gown and swimsuit before they even opened their mouths which you don't mention implying she lost on just one answer! North Carolina also had a huge pedigree in pageants (Mum and sister both also made it to Miss USA whereas Carrie didn't even finish her reign without being dethroned). Carrie could have taken ANY stance on that one question and still lost overall because her opponent was just better on the night, but it just suits people to blame it on the gay issue.
