Generally most Honda nerds leave those rubber strips off the rear arches, they have been present on most UK Honda's since at least the 90s. The rust on those arches however isn't good and sanding it down will not stop it as thr inner and outer archers are pinch welded together and the rust starts from inbetween the 2 layers, effectively impossibly to fix without cutting both layers and and visible rust out. Most people will weld in entire new inner and outer rear quartets as a permanent and proper fix.

You really need to get yourself a compressor and 2k paint. Very easy to blend and you get super results. Rattle cans just do not have the lasting protection that proper paint and clear coat give.

First coat of primer is just to show the imperfections. Then do more filling and more sanding. Then continue with more primer and the other layers after that.

Fair play to you mate! A lot of work! I’ve tried similar paint repairs and learned never again- my car goes straight to the paint shop when it needs work now. It’s easy to forget the preparation involved in painting, the painting itself is the easy part! Anyway, Great content, keep it up!

Cheers mate. Yes more work than I anticipated but happy with the results.

Great job 👏 A blind man on a galloping horse wouldn't pick much up out of that! Seriously not a bad job for rattle cans! Always key your paint before applying any filler! You will never loose the edges & the whole repair will start off way too low....

Wow that was a lot of work. Paint work takes a long time to do and it’s very frustrating when it goes wrong but you did a great job for a first attempt.

How long did all the filling, sanding and painting take?
@RoadandRacetv7 ай бұрын
8 days 🤣

Obviously worked hard, but the it appears the bumper is a different shade to the rest of the car, I believe it’s because it’s plastic vs metal vs old / new so notorious to get right if impossible.

id consider respay the finishing touch rather than a save. in thi s case id consider tht a bodge spray, bloody cans lol

Really enjoying this channel. Have you thought about doing a hill climb series? Buy a car modify the car and then doing the hill climb
@RoadandRacetv7 ай бұрын
Thanks Mark. I've no idea about hill climbs. Do you do them?
@MarkWright-2067 ай бұрын
@@RoadandRacetv no i don’t do hillclimbs, but i have gone up Prescott Hill at pug fest a few times, from wot i know a road car needs these things done to compete, you need to join a club and hold an RS Interclub competition licence have a sticker on your ignition showing which way to switch it off, a yellow battery earth cable and a race number on both sides and a timing strut on the front end so the track sensors can give you accurate run times

Remember that silver is one of the most difficult colors to spray paint yourself…
