Thanks Pete, I think alot of people need to understand that metal work has imperfections, if you want perfection you need to block just like you're doing... primer is the next step and block again... the road map to a straight and perfect finished product... show car quality.

Hello my friend Pete This is your friend Ronnie from a small town in Virginia. Im 70 years old and was a truck mechanic at the same dealership for 40 years. In January 2017 i suffered a stroke that set me back working on my 1969 Firebird. And ive been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. So im only good for about 4 hours and have to go in and rest. Im down to installing the driver side front floor pan from the seat to the toe panel. Im not that good of a welder with a mig welder. I did take you advice using 0.23 wire that helped me alot. Now my question is being I'm not that good of a welder would it be ok to lap weld the floor pan in instead of but welding it. I plan to use seam sealer on everything. I've learned alot watching your videos. Keep up the great work and videos coming. I prayed for Minnie to get home safely and God heard us and made it happen. 🙏🏼 Take care my friend Pete Your friend Ronnie from a small town in Virginia. Tell Minnie im glad she made it home safely. All hell is going on over there now. Ive rambled enough 0:04

Great video series on this project Pete! You really take the time to explain things well and are a great teacher! Your excellent work speaks for itself when you have no comeback complaints! Thanks for all of your videos, they have been a great help to me. Ive been watching your stuff for many years, I think the first series I watched was when you did a red 62 Galaxie. This set of videos are perfect for me working on my 64 Mercury (Titanic) Cheers and THANK YOU!

Pete I agree with everything. Everything you are saying in this series. I want your opinion in maybe using a different color of harder on your filler coat and your next coat to heal a untrained eye like myself to find your low and high spots.

I think using a differ ent Color hardener can have its merits …. After first coat , you can use that Color as a base and consider moving forward like it is level with the metal and help one stop sanding further ….. if that makes any sense !!!

I guess the right way to apply bondo over epoxy would be to REMOVE the epoxy ,sand the metal ,wipe clean ,and only then apply bondo 🛠
@gm-lb9oe
@gm-lb9oe Жыл бұрын
You have to grind the metal for bondo to stick, if you take a grinder to epoxy primer/ sealer, your down to metal. Bondo needs tooth or a extremely rough surface to stick properly, sealer isn't that rough, like Pete said 36 grit

I dont know Pete, but the guy who owns this car, didnt want you to finish it out and paint it? I know big time, he made a huge mistake, all your perfect work, i hope who ever finishes it out, doesnt screw it all up. I have never seen anything so straight. Maybe you should teach chip goof, or is it chip footsie?????? He basically layers 1/2 thick bondo on the whole flipping car, over epoxy primer, im sure he could use a lot of lessons from you, but i would definitely charge him 3000.00 dollars a half hour to learn it from you. Hes just a name, if he was working for boyd nobody would know of him. Too bad he screwed boyd around, what a ahole footsie is. Thats why i dont buy any of his junk or watch anything of his. All i watch is you
