Looks like your Escort has the same sort of problem we found with one we bought still in the blister pack - the plastic window had deformed and no longer fit properly. Ended up doing a three-way window swap with two other Escorts to get two good ones - one with the stickers and one without. Still kept the third one in case we wanted to customize it...

Hi Jason, I discovered youtube, resto/customising/racing diecast mid 2018, been very enjoyable. Some great channels/rebuilders have come and gone. I have been thinking it has been a while since someone did a new complete "how to" vid. Well done! I enjoy ( for myself) collecting the old memories, have not done too many up, as yet, but do mod for racing. One question you may be able to assist me with... Next May I will be in the UK for 7 weeks, are there any markets/places you could suggest to find (older) diecast? Cheers, Marc D

If you’re not too concerned about condition ie restoration worthy, try searching for car boot sales near the location you’re staying. There’s always tons on offer in varying states. I find antique shops tend to overcharge but otherwise toy fairs and swap meets are your best bet. Hope that helps!

Great work! And I have a few questions: 1. If I have an old car model that has got holes in it(was a police car or a fire dept car, but it has the light bar missing and I want to turn it into a stock car), how do I cover them without using putty? 2. If I have a car model with snapped off opening parts(for example, snapped off boot/trunk lid), is it ok to use filler? I used super glue and it snapped off after four years.

Thanks! The answer to both would be filler depending on size of the gap left over. You might want some styrene glued in place for the filler to adhere to but I would suggest two-part epoxy putty is a better option

aye, this should do the trick. :) may I recommend handling stickers with a pointy tweezers? some tend to come loose where you touched them after a while.

Good suggestion. These were very sticky and it had crossed my mind to tweezer them on, but they were so sticky I thought I’d have just as much trouble removing them from the tweezers!

@@DieCastRestos I see. for this I use very pointy, small tweezers and grab the decal at a corner. but so sticky? they'll outlast the zinc alloy... XD

I’d prefer them without but I do appreciate the quality of these reproduction labels
