I'm having the same issue. The Apple support section says it will show up in your Devices list in Finder, but it doesn't show up at all. It even says to unplug your power and HDMI cord when you do this.

@@AzadLassiter I can't fully remember how, but we did end up fixing it that night. The remote and Apply TV were set to my old wifi (we were trying to set it up at my girlfriend's grandma's house). Her uncle is a developer and he ended up finding a way to reset it, but I can't remember hahaha. Sorry I'm not that helpful, but know that it is possible some how!

@@AzadLassiter i managed to solve this by trying different cables, should be a micro usb that supports data transfer, usually they have a little symbol on them.

This was a no brainer, once hooked up to iTunes the whole process took about four minutes and it was as good as new. Used a laptop with Windows 10

1:15 for Windows 7 did you try authorizing the device in iTunes under account in authorizations authorize this computer I tried this and then it worked for me but I have a more recent version of windows than windows 7

@@Joeatsaco69 Same here I can't get itunes to recognize my apple tv 4th gen. IDK if it's related to Mac OS X 10.15.2 Catalina changing Iphones/ipods to be in the finder window instead of itunes... But it doesn't show up there either or in disk utility. =/ Verified I have the right cable and it works with other devices. The light just blinks.

I tried this with my windows 10 laptop. Like you said it would not show up in iTunes. But I unplugged the power at the ATV and flipped the power cable and upon re inserting it brought up a reset window and dropped me right into place. I had to pause 2 other downloads but it is screaming along. so it can still work it just took another option to do it. Thanks for the vid. I have been stressing over getting this repaired since yesterday. Thanks again.

Brendan you have to have a micro usb cord that transmits data, not just charge it.

My Apple TV has been working fine, but right now all the internet I have is cellular data which is unlimited, I can’t hotspot because I only have 10 GB of that, but I can play it on my phone and supposedly airplay but every time I try to airplay video to my Apple TV it just sits on a loading bar and goes no where.
