hi i cant change the version to live on my headset it says there are no permissions for this application do you know how i can fix this

Did you uninstall it before changing the channel? What happens if you go to the channel version with the store app?

anytime i try to switch the mode to live on my phone it says that theres an error and it wont let me do anything tried like 8 times and deleted the app and reinstalled and still didnt work.

Looks like an update broke the channel version change. I'll double check to see if you can change the channel in the headset still.

Meta broke it when they changed the app to meta horizons. Change the channel from inside your headset by searching for apps in your headset. Then reinstall. I will have an updated guide on this later today.

​@@BearskiVR Same thing happened to me, I changed the version in my headset and phone and now when I try to update it, the installation instantly cancels. On top of that every time I uninstall beatsaber the mods still show up when I reinstall it

So, to confirm, you check both your meta app and headset to confirm the channel version is v1.36? After that you reinstalled beat saber twice? Once in the App Library and then again by clicking on “restore”? Let me know how it goes.

For the android way can I still get custom sabers?

Yes. Qosmetics is now live for mods before Friday. You can install the sabers directly into your headset. No phone or pc needed for that part.

Reinstall back to live? If it’s giving you trouble. Try restarting the headset then follow along with the video.

Yo so um ik your probably can’t do anything about this but I use mbf for my mods and all I do is reinstall beat saber and I have my avatar saved and my colors saved but I did something different instead of mbf and now it got rid of my colors and avatar and I wanted to keep my avatar for how many years I could I’ve had it saved for 2 years and I think I just lost how I did my avatar also it reset my scores cuz mbf never told me to restore and that stuff but I wanted to try another mod method so ima try this to see if it works cuz im really freaking pissed and sad rn and no it’s not ur fault Edit: yea it did not save my colors or avatar I’ve had it saved like it for 2 years and I’m that type of person to I’m freaking crying rn

Does this delete all my mods? For example, if i have the whackers mod and have installed 10 custom sabers, will they still be there if i downgrade back or will they be deleted?

They'll be there when you downgrade and patch mod back to the version those mods worked on.

@NeatHorizon5014 what I just did is select live of beat saber in the vr and it will ask restore beat saber press restore then you should be updated to the newest version. I did this because I couldn’t mod beat saber.

@Fab-e6u Probably didn't work for me because I uninstalled my BMBF but it's all good now, I reinstalled Beat Saber so I could get it back to the current version

Kind of, Any songs packs that released after v1.28 (or v1.35 if using mbf)won’t be accessible. But you will be able to redownload and play them after returning back to live.

I have all my mods on QuestPatcher 2 on my pc. Can I do this and go to the most recent version to play multiplayer and then go back to my modded version on QuestPatcher? I can't make backups because of the problem where you can't give permission to your files...

You should be able to make a backup using sidequest. But basically, ya. After changing the channel to 1.29, downgrading with Qavs, you can patch/mod all of your mods back in with the files already in QP.

You would, you would need to mod again to play the custom songs, but they will be already downloaded after you mod back.

No, as long as you purchased beat saber and the song packs and are logged into the account that bought them. They’ll be there for you.
