Sept 2023: This worked!!!!!! I had an old Dell Windows 7 laptop that I needed to factory restore before I donated it. However, I did NOT have any of the original recovery disks, and the Microsoft site no longer supports any Windows 7 downloads. So, I followed your directions and it worked!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!

@@luvzaire2002 What I did what just change the password and you gotta power it off then power it on and in the starting windows hold power to power off for 5 seconds I recommend watching those videos

Huh, didn't work for me. At the step at 2:34 it keeps asking for an administrator password. Got the laptop used, with no way to get the password. Is there a step to get around this? EDIT: Ok, It took some tries but I used the Win 7 password reset trick, though even that didn't work normally, had to use safe mode with command prompt to get it to work....whoever had this laptop before me REALLY didn't want anyone getting in and apparently knew all the hacks and how to stop them. Yeesh. Oh well, it was practically free so worth the hoops. Thanks for this

The recovery partition is found in Disk Management but it's a shame Dell hides it so deep for users to restore. Thanks a lot for your video tutorial for this. I almost manually reformat the disk

I was happy that it works until I have to deal with Windows update. The laptop is a 2011 model and it took many hours to update with several error messages. It was a pain. Manually reformat and install a latest version of Windows 10 would be much easier. Cheers

@@HowdyAleck. Consider reinstall a fresh & latest copy of Windows. The recovery took your OS back to 10-15yrs ago and Windows Update could be a big pain to deal with
