Thank you so much for watching! Let me give you a little bit of context of the part I was restoring before I can answer your question, The part that I restored was a muffler from a motorcycle , the motorcycle was abandoned for 3 years in somebody's back yard which caused the muffler to rust because the bike was always exposed to the weather , since I restored the motorcycle I have wash it and ride it a couple of times in the rain but the rust hasn't come back ,also I want to mention that when I'm not using the motorcycle I put it inside my garage, away from the elements and all kinds of weather and on top of that I apply every now and then some paste wax to make the chrome a little more resistant to the water but my point is that if whatever chrome your are trying to restore if you leave it out on the weather, long enough without giving it proper maintenance sooner or later the rust is going to come back but if you take the proper care I think you will be able to enjoy the results for a long period of time just like me

Hey what's up brother! Nice to see you here again thanks for watching the video ! You can use any kind of liquid soap , the porpuse of soap is just to add lubrication between the aluminum foil and the chrome and just to make the rusted surface more slippery , I used some car wash soap I had in my garage but I have restored chrome before with dish soap , laundry soap ,even body wash and I always get the same results, I think the aluminum foil is what really makes this trick work !
