I thought you apply with the grain of the wood?

Wow ! That must be some hard wood to be using a turbo nozzle. It looks like it isn't chewing up the wood

Hmm... im wondering if i should use a deck brightener if I was just going use the solid concrete stain. My deck has a lot of cracks and I don't think I can replace the wood.
@pechar_woodimport6 жыл бұрын
Dear Arkey, if you applied solid stain on your wooden deck, then brightener will not work.

Is the first treatment used neat ? That would cost a fortune in the UK - instructions say use two capfuls to 5 litres water but the video shows them pouring it neat into the blue tray ?
@pechar_woodimport7 жыл бұрын
Yes, we used Saicos wood brightener neat. According to technical product list is recommended to dilute 1:5 and it works just fine as well. It is better to soak terrace before the treatment with water so that the consumption of the brightener is much lower. Let it work for at least 15 minutes, so it is also better to do restoring not during hot days and direct sunshine when wood is hot and drying is too quick.

Hi, won't you left many laps mark on the deck without using feathering method with fan tips?

Philip Lim not for IPE wood decking. This stuff is scratch resistant, mold resistant, termite resistant. It's the best of the best

Pretty risky doing that with new white shoes on. lol

It is interesting to see that you used the turbo head on the pressure washer. Everyone else seems to say to use a fan sprayer head only.

This is obviously ipe hardwood. Pressure-treated lumber doesn't look this in-tact over time.
@Will-2167 жыл бұрын
Kevin Cody I was just about to say that. It's obviously IPE or tiger wood etc...

How long will this stuff last ? I have to restore my deck every other year.
@pechar_woodimport7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the type of oil. My experience on deck projects in Central Europe its every year when using transparent oils without UV protection. Longer life provides colored natural oils with UV resistance applied in two layers, which usually lasts two to three years.
@billyjames52837 жыл бұрын
I agree 2 maybe 3 years. I shoulda went with composite. Getting to old do keep doing it over and over.
@bryanwilson83965 жыл бұрын
Right Plan on resurfacing every 2 years. Some do it every year. The UV rays are the finish’s worst enemy. Nothing you can do to prevent it. Rule of thumb Flat horizontal sections every year or 2, Verticals every 5 years. Looks way better than grey uncoated wood.

The deck was 5 years old and the screws are not rusty because we used stainless steel ;-)

all us builders know that a pressure-washer destroys the structural integrity of the wood making it weaker ! ... good video, just loose the pressure-washer !!
@pechar_woodimport7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The low-presure washer must be used with extreme caution and with sufficient distances. For softwoods the surface sanding method is preferable, but usually do not get into inaccessible places. This deck was made of Ipe wood, which well resist to low-pressure washer cleaning. We especially wanted to show usage of Saicos wood brightener product which works perfectly for weathered wood.
