Great video - just what I was looking for! There are surprisingly few tutorials out there for this type of information, as another viewer commented. Although I am a long-time builder of my computers, I didn't know how to repurpose the main hard drive from my old desktop for use as an external drive, as I needed to make the old drive non-bootable, while preserving my files on that drive (which were on a separate partition, which I always set up separately from the operating system partition), so thank you for the excellent video! 👍

Having issues with doing this, cloned the old hard drive to upgrade to an nvme ssd, set the boot priorities to boot from the ssd. But no matter what it keeps defaulting to booting from the hard drive. Whenever I go back and check the priorities it still says the ssd is the number one option. Not to mention the computer won’t allow me to reset and wipe ssd clone, I cannot access anything on it whether in file explorer or disk management. Last resort now so to just simply toss it in a drawer and buy a new hard drive for storage and leave the old one alone. Anyone know how to fix this?
