Best advice in this video for the noobz: "pull the clutch, never the brake." Could not be more crucial
@quantumwaves4475 жыл бұрын
Yeh the clutch is a proper tool for fine tuning the line that the bike decide3d to take... or rather the shitty ass line your punk ass wanted to take, but the bike is like nah dat's stupid imma do my own shit... prolly better off dat way anyway... u mad bro? 99.9% the bike is right tho anyway!
@00RV005 жыл бұрын
I'm a noobz and some truck who I thought was doing a u-turn into a narrow road decided he was just going to stay there blocking 90% of the road, I engaged both brakes but by mistake I also pulled the clutch in, immediately I let go of the brakes and leaned to pass through that 10% of road. I would have been fine just braking, but this sure made look cooler in the eyes of my girlfriend in the back seat.
@magicoddeffect4 жыл бұрын
@kuro neko You need a translator for Ebonics? He's basically saying that if you as an unskilled rider picked a shitty line across the terrain, the bike is going to find the way it needs to go and fight you on it, so you have to learn to modulate the clutch or it'll throw you off.

@@spencer9095 Sand is easy enough to ride with just sand knobbies. A rear paddle isn't required. Sand also doesn't melt into ice under your tires. I'd stud or spike an aggressive front knobby. The AMS Sand Snake MX front would have probably been a good choice for spiking and complementing that rear paddle. A rear knobby with some paddle to it would probably be OK with some spikes too.

How does it drive with studs on asphalt? I'm thinking about getting my tires studded and then new wheels and tires next season. So can I drive with studs all winter long?
@SmoothJohnson Жыл бұрын
@@qresind It's rideable but not great...couple things: 1) not great traction from stud to pavement. 2) Lots of wobble and unstable vibes as various studs kinda beat the pavement and a very unbalanced setup spins. 3) Riding studs on pavement is wearing out very expensive studs very fast, so it's just burning money. Suggestion: if you want to winter-ride, set up a pair of winter tires for winter conditions, on spare wheels if you can do it, and switch to those when you are riding mostly snow and ice, then switch back when you are riding mostly pavement.

Takes me back. Somewhere in the 2000s I was returning home on a DRZ400 by a different route over Mt Gleason, not realising it was under a foot of snow. The bike had Dunlop D606s and I didn't have enough gas to go back the way I came. On the way up I fell off a dozen times. I was at the point of regretting that there was no kickstart, because if the battery failed there was no way I could bump it, but finally it clawed its way over the top and the descent was comparatively easy. I loved the bike, but the NFS used a fire as an excuse to close all the trails a few years later so I had to sell it.

I am serious, it was better at snow covered sand hills than in the summer. did 50mph on black ice and could turn at about 20mph without sliding out. traveled down the frozen beach with ice shelves piled up from the tide. all until the bumps started pushing the screws threw into the tube and that green slime stuff just wasn't enough. tied the tires to the rims after they totally flattened out and limped home. lol

Greetings from Finland We race in the snow BTW. What you want is studs. If there isn't too much snow, then it's fun to play anywhere, but when you start to get to 30 cm (or a foot) or so, its gets hard to cut a track, so follow old lines. Keep weight in front to make the front tire to follow the old groove. We also use special boots that slide really well for balance. Huge difference. You can search for videos with the word "spoori". Its a whole different sport compared to normal riding, top Finns just whip the best enduro riders of the world all day long in snow.
