Shouldn’t it say when making turns to lean in the OPPOSITE direction of the turn not the same direction of the turn? And shouldn’t it instruct you to lock the parking brake BEFORE you get off the bike, not afterwards?

No, the instructions are correct. When turning left, lean left. When turning right, lean right. I have found, after many years of trike riding, SLOWING DOWN before you turn is essential and eliminates most tipping problems. In addition, never cross an uneven surface at an angle. Always make sure both rear wheels cross the uneven surface at the same time. For example, when entering a driveway or parking lot from the street, slow down then enter the drive at a 90 degree angle to the street, so that both rear wheels go over the bump at the same moment. Yes, lock the parking brake BEFORE dismounting the trike.
