@@eatislovetv2857 I really need the knives!

I'm curious about those knives. Despite being kind of a bargain, they had some nice features (like being full-tang, one-piece construction). They might actually pretty good quality and it would be far from the first time I've found truly high-quality stuff at that store for insanely low prices. I'll be interested in knowing how they work out for you!

@eatislovetv2857 oh my goodness. The day after the knives came in we had company over twice in one day. My family was helping me prepare the food for both of those events and kept commenting on where did I get these awesome knives. The quality was superior. My mom is now asking where she can get a set of them in a steak knife sized set. They were all the rage at my house. 🔪

You do want to rinse a fresh chicken
@eatislovetv285710 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment! This may be a matter of what one defines as "fresh." If you are are harvesting a live bird, then yes as part of plucking the feathers, the animal needs to be scalded in hot water so I suppose that could be considered a rinse. A bird purchased at the grocery store, on the other hand, should not be rinsed or washed. If there are nasties such as salmonella or campylobacter on it, rinsing it in water will not kill or remove those pathogens. In fact, it's possible to spread pathogens to other parts of the kitchen by way of water splashing off the bird and landing on otherwise clean surfaces. According to the USDA, numerous extension offices and the CDC, washing a chicken does not make is safer and can actually spread pathogens.
