Sure, until you unlock the Little Bird they are a good alternative But once you have the possibility, i highly suggest to switch to the Little Bird as it is useful in other situations and is also easier to access, as it spawns directly at the top of a building and not in restricted areas that need keycards like the normal helicopter. Also the small size can help you fly through the city, whereas with the normal helicopter you can easily get stuck
