61 yr old here. you we’re the first one i watched when my 22 yr old niece convinced her mom and i to skate. still learning to stop. i won’t go anywhere but my backyard and in the house until i learn to stop. its different from inside the house to outside on concrete. lol. but i’m so tempted to go “outside” for real.....building confidence still, almost have stopping down to a tee....i enjoy your videos.

Omg it is! I used to be an excellent outdoor roller skater as a child. In my adult life I've occasionally gone skating at rinks, but not much outdoor. I recently took up skating again and omg, skating outdoors is really different. Different being older with a higher center of gravity too.

I noticed one tip I could share that I recently figured out: On Urban skating I like to track with my phone my roads I take...Often I stumble across fresh pavement, or dreamy parking lots. I later Google earth where I skated in the city (as I live country) to see surrounding areas, I ALWAYS find tenniscourts that were nearby my route, or things I'd like to skate by next time. By re visiting your routes, and then expanding by satalite searches I've found gems! AND you get to re try places you've already skated, it really helped me. I was a rink skater, but our closed in 2017, now the world is the rink! THANK YOU Indy for really inspiring me those years ago to just go outside and skate~

I hope you realize what a great teacher you are. I used to ice skate when I was a kid and then I started to do inline roller because grown-ups told me it was similar, despite the fact that I really wanted to try roller skates 🛼 . I never really loved inline as much as I loved ice skating. Now, I’m almost 30 and 6 months ago I finally bought my first pair of roller skates. I’ve never been so happy to roll 😍 And you know what Indy ? It’s all thanks to you. I was watching your videos even before buying them, and I was like “she explains things so well, there’s no reason I can’t make it”. And guess what, I’m rolling now ! Still got a lot to improve, but I have fun with my husband and that’s all that matters. A hug and a big thank you from France !

I’m re-learning how to roller skate because I need more variety. I’m trying to stay active in my late forties and skating is something I used to really enjoy and still do. At the skating rink I realized skating is not like riding a bike. I’m really “rusty”...lol. Love the user-friendly videos as I reintroduce myself to a old favorite past time. Thanks for sharing!!

Have you ever heard of an Ollie? A skateboarders can easily maneuver on and off the curbs, there’s a couple different ways to do it to you we don’t have to step off, every time there is an obstacle we might not be firmly attached to the board but we’re attached enough to maneuver just like on rollerskates with all due respect I really enjoy your channel

Mushy mushy, drop that tushie. That’s going to be playing over in my mind as I outdoor skate, especially navigating curbs. I love how you demo then give us the breakdown. I like the rink, but I’ve learned more (at 55) by skating outdoors. Curbs, driveways, people. Warm up to work off the jitters and go for it. Just keep practicing and learn from great videos like this one. 😉
