As you are aware, this video is based on LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10), however this method will also work on 18.0 and 18.1 which are both based on Android 11. Both versions have been successfully tested! Please Note (Oct 2021 Update): If any of you are experiencing problems downloading from the official Magisk site. Then I would suggest you download manually by typing in Google search box “Magisk Zip latest version download” Here is an example to download from: bytestransfer.com/downloading/txvcxv7hnpy00pgfmiiz4k0y7/ This alternative method works, but it must be the “Zip File” you need to download.

it works! you have to download magisk zip manually from the internet tho because the new app version doesn't have the "download zip only" option

that's because you don't need to download zip, you just rename your donwloaded .apk file to magisk.zip file. Just add zip instead of apk

LineageOS 17/17.1 is not based on Android 9. It's based on Android 10. Also, LineageOS 18.0/18.1 are both based on Android 11.

This looks great but I still have the stock recovery on my LOS 18.1 (OnePlus One) and whenever I flash TWERP it is only there until I reboot and then I'm back to the stock recovery - so can't install Magisk and root my device as you cover here. Installing TWRP is the headache, it seems to work fine at first but after a system reboot, it's gone!

Well i bet u have a stock os installed , bcoz stock os changes the recovery every time u boot the os , so change to custom rom os forget about the TWRP or any other recoveries. 👍

Yes it is always advised to have a PC/laptop available in case of failure to boot. Don't listen to the other guy
