How to Root the LG G3

You're the man. I just rooted my Sprint LG G3. I also noticed that mine does not have the ugly Sprint boot screen. It just shows LG powered by Android. All in all it worked like a charm.

Marcus Embry bro it's ten times better than the Nexus 5 in all categories in my opinion. I don't miss my Nexus 5 at all and it's easy to root and install Xposed Framework to get some of those cool Nexus like features. Battery life is definitely way better and camera. Love the display and it's just as fast as the Nexus 5.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm seriously thinking about using T-Mobile's jump program to get it. I'm trying to decide on whether to wait and see what the Nexus 6 is about.

im still on the 4.4.2 update..and as far as i know there is not root methad for 4.4.2 and up...nothing past stump root...if there is plz let me know asap

Thank you that was the easiest root I've ever done. Literally took 5 minutes to do. I did have to go to apk to get the stop root app. I was not able to download it from your posted link.

I rooted my G3 a long time a go. But, I accidentally updated my phone and no modules work, but when I try this method Stump Root says my phone is already rooted (which it is not, once again). Any help?

I have done a stupid mistake and now it wont stop restarting. I have connected it to my laptop with the usb cable and pressed the Upgrade button on its software (LG PC Suite). It did a few installs and now it's stuck on continuous restart. I did try all kinds of combinations with pressing the back buttons but it doesn't show anything else but continuous restart. Please Help if anyone knows anything about this issue.

I have the G3 for Verizon. But my main question is what exactly can you do with a rooted phone? I used to jailbreak my iPhones all the time till I realized Apple sucked and switched to android (much happier) but is rooting the same as jailbreak?

There is not too much difference between what you can so with a root or without a root compared to a jailbreak(pretty much lets you use an iPhone). You can completley change the ROM (like an OS for a phone) or you could tweak the ROM it slightly make it better using xposed moduals. Some apps also use root access.

1 click root apps are a scam. Even if they work they usually leave a backdoor vulnerability into your device. The best way to root a phone is with ADB sideload.
