If you want to learn how to run a florist business from home, how to become a florist working from home, how to operate a flower shop from home or simply just figure out how to organise a florist business from home in 2023, you've come to the right place.
So many florists assume that having a shopfront will legitimise their flower business. But one of the lessons that we have learned as floral designers since the pandemic started, is that having a shop is not entirely necessary.
As somebody who went from having a cute little pop-up in a women’s store to having a thriving and super busy retail shop...then back to working from a shed again, I am the perfect person to tell you that you can still run a florist business from home (and make great money).
In today’s video, I wanna walk you through the three important things to know if you want to operate a flower shop from home:
⭐️ Home-based business is still a legitimate business
⭐️ Digital marketing know-how is essential as a business owner in 2023
⭐️ Re-investing in your business will only make you more money
Of course, if having a customer-facing flower shop is part of your dream, then go out there and make it happen. But if it’s not necessarily part of your dream, that’s okay as well.

Hi, I've been a florist for 15 years and have always wanted my own business but have no clients so am nervous to take that leap as I have full-time employment in a shop which is guarantee income to pay my mortgage ect. Oh yes do it!!! I know it feels so scary and unknown but with all that experience under your belt, you have such a great foundation to build on. I think one thing I wished I had done much earlier in my business was to get crystal clear on the specific designs and customers I wanted to work with. The more you tune into the business you want to create, getting clients is such an easier process. 🥰

I got the small retail shop but thinking to move to home based business so just wondering 1. Can the customers still come and buy like the retail shop or not? 2. As I read, we can not display the product so any chance we would like to do some painting or decoration outside? Great questions! You'll want to check with your local government / council in terms of whether or not you'll be able to use your home as a retail shop. This varies from state to state. And I'd set up an easy process so you can create a "display" using your social media channels. For example, feature your flowers on your Instagram Stories and keep it current with what you have on hand. That way, when you're on the phone with a customer they can easily see what you have on hand. 🥳
