Clara is a natural demonstrator, she's lovely. Is the river walk [SSSI] on the estate, part of the gardens? Very interesting indeed, so many different projects being covered, I feel I should sit with a pen and pencil poised so I don't miss anything! Your staff seem lovely, and it looks an excellent place to work, obviously the boss can be a pain in the arse but the surroundings would compensate for that! I'm loving this weekly format Malcolm, hope it's not too onerous for you.

Great to see you back again, and for a full year as well. I will be calling into the nursery in spring, I've never bought a duff plant off you yet. Catch you later when your legs are straighter.

Jan and feb are the hardest months, but I am comforted by the stacks and stacks of plant catalogs that begin coming by mail in January lol. I do have a question..being in the high pennines I can imagine the weather is tough on pests as well as plants, but what would you say is your worst pest problem there?
@DottyGran2474 жыл бұрын
Tara probably customers...heehee 😂
@plantsmanscorner1284 жыл бұрын
Customers Tara.... Closely followed by rabbits, mice, short tailed field voles, aphids, vine weevil, botrytis (mildews and funguses generally)......We are under constant attack, my old head gardener used to say you “need to hide everything up your arse” .......it was just one of his expressions. I might repeat one or two of them in the coming weeks, but this is 2020 and he was born in 1898.... To be fair, 99.9% of customers are fantastic.....but it’s the one tosser in a thousand that nags away in the mind.
@Tara-sf7uu4 жыл бұрын
I had assumed that Tucker was for chasing off those pesky customers lol. Thanks for answering, I had wondered if fungus and bugs were an issue. Here in the southeast U.S,we can sometimes have 3 or 4 generations of insects per year...its a never ending war 🙄. Maybe thats why southerners here have such big arses...they just dont know they have a purpose lol

@@plantsmanscorner128 I translate, from google .. the best N ° 1. Years ago, looking for information on Japanese maples that I breed with luck on my terrace, (the summer climate in the area, Sicily, is not the most suitable for their growth.) I came across your videos, they immediately struck me, the magnificent plants and the videos "out of the ordinary". even if I don't understand english, they are very nice and interesting. a magnificent collection of plants, species of Japanese maples. what I like most, are the beautiful autumn colors! you are from what i see, very nice people. all very beautiful. a greeting to the cute little dogs, they are real "stars". thanks for replying to my comment.
