Running apps from Android Studio on the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P requires installing the Google USB Driver. The process is slightly different from what you may be familiar with, so I thought that this video would be useful for future reference for the community!
Android Studio:

Google USB Driver location:
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
Table of contents:
0:04 - Check your Android phone model.
0:34 - Open SDK Manager.
0:59 - Install the Google USB Driver on the SDK Tools tab.
1:14 - Plug in your USB Type-C cable from your Nexus 5X to your laptop.
1:40 - Search for Devices and Printers in Windows Search.
2:01 - Right click MTP and click Properties.
2:15 - Find the Android Composite ADB Interface in the Hardware tab. Click Properties.
2:23 - Hit Change Settings. Hit Driver tab. Hit Update Driver.
2:47 - Update the driver with custom driver software. Use the Google USB Driver location above.
3:44 - Open your favorite Android Studio project and hit the play button at the top.
3:56 - Turn on Developer Options and allow USB Debugging Mode. Allow USB Debugging on this computer.
4:48 - Connected Devices will include the Nexus 5X. You can hit the Nexus 5X, hit OK, and run the app on the Nexus 5X.
