This is perfect timing, I am calibrating mine tomorrow. I am so impressed by all of you and so, so glad I invested in Maslow.

Well done Bar, well done team. I have a question about belt length- I'm gonna head to the forum and find a place to post it.
@igneggo

I may have found an answer from bar on the forum under "belts too long" Could it possibly be clarified on the assembly page that the belt cannot be wound past the idler/ it's normal to have ~500mm excess?

@@igneggo Yes, I can add that to the instructions today

For calibration, why cant we manually move the cnc to one corner at a time and give it all four corner locations so that it can work within this area?
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 3 ай бұрын
The goal of calibration isn't to define the work area, it is to find the exact XY coordinates of each of the anchor points. Because the machine's internal math depends on precisely knowing where each anchor point is we need to know exactly where they are in order to make precise movements

I completed my calibration exactly to this video and got a finest score of 0.74 I'm hoping that's good? Question, do I have to calibrate every time I turn on Maslow4, cause it always tells me that maslow doesn't know the lengths of the belts and that I have to retract and extend the belts fully every time I turn on and try to move the machine? Looking forward to making my first cut (72" H X 24" W Arcade Cabinet)!

0.74 is great! You do not need to ever run calibration again, in the future just click the "Apply Tension" button instead and the machine will use your stored calibration

Does this work if the frame is horizontal? It looks like it depends on gravity.
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 3 ай бұрын
It can be horizontal or vertical. You select which you want to use at the beginning of the process

Wonder if possible to use dewalt cordless trim router instead of the corded version? Is the power controlled by the pcb so it couldn’t use a cordless router?
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 4 ай бұрын
I played around with one and it fits perfectly. The issues are 1) The controller PCB mounts to the top of the router so the battery is kinda in the way and 2) The battery one isn't that much quieter (what I was looking for) so there didn't seem to be much advantage. It should work though other than the battery issues

Hi, what is your frame made of? Do you prefer it to wood? I’m thinking of using aluminium extrusion to build my frame. Great updates, well done to you all.
@mickosmile850

In the floor example a wood frame was used, in the vertical example here, the frame is metal, likely aluminum

@@mickosmile850 Thanks, I though it was, wondered what sort of extrusion it is. I'm sure Bar or one of his team will get back.

Does the kinematics rely on the frame being pretty much square? Or is it ok if the frame is skewed or an oddly shaped trapezoid?
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 4 ай бұрын
It does not rely on it being square in any way. We make the UI ask for width and height to make it simple, but if you want you can enter the initial guess for the XY coordinates of each anchor point directly and that should work just as well
