How to Run Ebay Sales, Best Offers AND Promoted listings successfully in 2024

Couple of years ago I raised the prices on my cheaper paperbacks by $1. Now I run sales at 9-11% off. I come out a 90cents ahead per book. I leave BO on my items on sale. Acceptance depends on how slow things have been or how long I've had the item. I don't use promoted listings. I figure if the category is crowded with item X, it is not going to help. If there are only a handful of the item there is no need.

Great video ! I do all 3 as well. I have several sales and coupons going at the same time as well. I just started my store a couple of weeks ago and once I started sales and coupons my sales doubled. I like the attention that coupons bring to my listings. Another good reason for new people to consider a small profit and moving an item is transactions. You have to have $1000 in sales and 100 transactions to be a top seller. Top seller status should help increase your traffic and hopefully more sales. Great video !

I promote everything. I run a markdown twice per week so my items are always on sale. I use best offer on my items. I know what I pay for my items and I know the bottom amount I can accept. I'll always go a bit lower on best offers then I'd like to get for it especially items that have been around for for a bit. I also use to have a coupon and am thinking about doing it again.

I usually get reasonable offers, except when I am running a sale, as soon as I start a sale I get the worst low ball offers, is like they see I put my stuff on sale and they want it for 50%-80% off the sale price.. I dont get it.. Anyway, I have a question that so far, I havent seen anyone talking about it which is weird, what do you think about the new "promote your store" campaign? Have you tried it? Is it worth it? Thank you!

I use all 3. Usually 20% off, 2-3% promo and most always take best offer unless completely lowball.

I would like to reduce my promoted to 3 or 5% but concerned my sales will plummet. If I reduce the promoted % assuming my sales take a hit cuz of less eyeballs from reduced promoted will they eventually bounce back or will it b a death sentence?

I use them all but space on the sales sometimes. I haven’t had amazing results in the past. I don’t go back and forth over a couple bucks anymore. It’s not worth it.

Sellers should block buyers offering less than half because they don't deserve your time. As ecomony contines to decline, Ebay may institute policies allowing sellers to mass block buyers who've been blocked by more than x # of sellers. IMO, bad buyers will regret their actions when they can no longer afford Amazon.

Question: let's say I have "20 free listings" left but I see something that says I have like "500 listings remaining". What does that mean?

I am far too busy to do much with offers. I just set prices fair and forget them. Once in a while I do the things you were talking about in the last video and they do increase sales but when selling new products there is not much room to mess with price changes. Just today I had a guy begging to go lower and I did send him an offer in hopes of getting more sales down the road from him but the time involved in going back and fourth and with the lower price I made almost nothing. If I let the product just sit there I would have made $20 instead of $5 now when I restock it the price is up $3 this month. With this crazy inflation people need to be paying more not less. One problem I had with running a sale (I think it was called a mark down sale) was during that time I could not edit the listings much. Some things went out of stock and when I restocked them the prices went up and I could not adjust the new prices up during the sale time. So at that point I stopped doing that type of sale. I am always increasing prices not decreasing them because I sell new products and they are always going up not down.

If you look there is a box that you can uncheck, when you are scheduling the sale. When you uncheck it you can change the price on any item within that sale. But I believe it will kick an item out of the sale if you decide to adjust its price.

Can you do a video on the new promotion of "Priority campaign strategy?" I cannot find any videos on this. It promotes that it increases sales by 50%. I need to know how it works

It CAN increase sales by 50% its not "WILL" increase them. and its advanced promoted listings where you pay weather it sells or not as opposed to standard promoted where you only pay IF it sells. I do 3% promoted - a few 5% coupons - and 3 sales a week mon to wed 25% / wed to Fri 30% and Fri to mon 35% (I set it up on a monthly basis) some sellers may think the sales are high but it works for me

If I make money on an item, I take the offer. You don't know if someone else will like the item. Sell, sell, sell.

I might also add that your profit is made at the time of the purchase not at the sale. You have to buy your inventory at a good price for it to work in this eBay system. You will get lost in the static if you are not playing the game. 😂
