Hello, is it possible to export the geometry with sink marks (and other defects) as a new geometry in which the sink marks are physically visible as marks? So that I have a new CAD file, e.g. .step, .iges, ... ! I would like to visually render the injection molding defects so that you can not only see the bright colors and areas on the model after the analysis, but the actual deformation in 3D.

Hello Michael, you can use the "Deformation" function while looking at the Total Displacement to view the rendering of the sink mark on the deformed model. You may need to increase the scale factor to actually see this deformation. You can then use "Export Deformed Model" to export an STL of the deformation, which would include the sink.

What problem with the simulation result will i encounter if i did not mesh the moldbase?

There are a few different reasons why a moldbase mesh cannot be generated, from the cooling channel ends not being attached to the mold wall, to a gap between two different geometries that cannot be filled by moldbase mesh, to the mesh solver not being able to identify how a particular interaction should be meshed. Our auto-grid version of the cooling system is certainly usable in the case where you cannot easily diagnose why an error such as that might occur. You can view our video on Auto-grid to be filled in on how exactly that might work and what are the advantages/disadvantages.
