Fascinating about hand carriage . Have wondered about that. Gonna start incorporating it into my runs. Thanks

It really is! I never thought much about hand carriage until I noticed that the East Africans distance runners started carrying their arms super higher than normal. They also swing their hands across their chest to generate more thoracic rotation which actually helps pull the foot up with less muscular effort! Really fascinating stuff. Here are the videos I did on that, and they also show more on exactly how to swing your hands: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5u0qIudab6fnrc and kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2esiGCvZdqIi6c ! Keep me updated on how you make out!

Beautiful tips, I enjoy when I hear and learn on how to improve my daily runs. I will carry my arms higher to the collarbone to test but I'm already convinced I'll enjoy the ride. a tiny enhancement to what I believe it's an already good running form.

Thank you! Can’t wait for you to try it! I also did two videos explaining more on why higher arm carriage is better than lower. The videos also show exactly how you should swing your hands and elbows! Here they are: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5u0qIudab6fnrc and kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2esiGCvZdqIi6c ! Hope they help, and let me know how you make out!

Thank You for this ! You always give great advice! I learned the forward lean from Danny Dryers’ Chi-running method. It’s one of the form focuses.

You’re very welcome, and thank you! I too found Chi-Runnig super helpful, even more helpful than Pose Running. Have you read Pose Running, too? If so, how did you find Pose compared with Chi?

@@runforefoot I’m not familiar with pose running. I will check it out. Thank You!

What are your thoughts on carbon plated shoes as in your video!?! I train in zero drop racing flats and compete in the Vaporflys.

I’m so glad you train in minimalist shoes because minimalist running, but even better, running barefoot has never mattered more when it comes to keeping your feet strong and upholding optimal running form for when you run in the VaporFly’s (VF). The only thing I like about those shoes is they do make you faster lol, but at a high cost because they throw certain aspects of your stride out of a safe range. These shoes are great at lifting you up on your forefoot faster, but because of the stack-height and stiffness, they cause the trail leg to trail too far behind the body, resulting in hamstring injuries. Calf injuries are being reported in them now, too. However, the elite runners getting these injuries from these shoes aren’t forefoot runners. Kipchoge runs more forefooted and he doesn't seem to have problems. Bekele, on the other hand, started heel striking in the VF and got all kinds of horrible injuries that included a femur fracture whereas on the track he was never a heel striker and didn’t get injured NEARLY as much. Also, in the VF, the Achilles doesn’t have to load and the plantarflexors are offline, so there are muscles and tendons that aren’t being used in the VF because the shoe is doing more of the work. This is where minimalist running, but especially, barefoot running in training will be a huge performance asset because it keeps these areas strong that Super Shoes turn off, and of course, it keeps the proper forefoot running style (kipchoge style) hardwired in your muscle memory. So, I think the best formula for those who want to run safely in the super shoes is to train in barefoot shoes or run barefoot as much as you can. Have you tried running barefoot?

The question really was about the shoe in regards to forefoot running. In regards to the cheating, how is it cheating when it’s available to to everyone!?.That is called a level playing field.Follow your reasoning and altitude training ,ice baths, massage and many other things should be considered cheating.Actually running in carbon plated shoes to often can diminish foot and ankle strength. It a tool to be used at the right times.
