+May Nandi Uninstall the older version and run the app again. Android Studio has this problem sometimes where new code doesn't reflect in the app :)

Professor DK I didn't delete but I selected run the app option from the run menu...that probably made it possible to run the current one..and yes it's successful..thanks a lot

The data cable is also called USB cable because it has one standard A port and one micro B port in the cable on either end. The data is sent via USB standard :)
