Thanks, Very good info. I have just bought a jobite Hikoki table saw and the roving knife is completely out of alignment with blade. Don’t see any way to adjust it. Will contact distributor. Thanks again for demoing how it should be

Congratulations! Very good your video! I am a DIYer and I have a doubt. My circular saw does not have a riving knife and I have decided to do one by myself. No more doubts about thickness after watching your video. My blade is a 184 mm (7 1/4 ") with 60 teeth and has the following measures: "plate=1,40 mm" and "teeth width=2,20 mm". In your opinion, what is the best thickness for my riving knife? Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks for the video. Can you please confirm if I wanted to use the saw to cut a rebate AND my riving knife was slightly above the height of the blade, should I a) remove the knife for this operation or b) adjust the knife so it's lower than the blade ? Thank you

I have a saw that's similar to this, the riving knife has the same adjustment, and beg anyone who has one to NOT ADJUST THE RIVING KNIFE IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

Could you elaborate on the riving knifes that can sit level or bellow the blade? Didn't understand that part :)

If the riving knife on the saw fits to the crown guard, then it will sit above the level of the blade. If you have a crown guard that is separate to the riving knife, then the knife can sit just below the top level of the blade.I hope this helps :-)

Can someone please try to help me!!!! I bought a dewalt dwe7491 got it home and the riving knife was well left of the blade,returned it for another one and that one was setup exactly the same!!!! Of course I can get any help from Dewalt,,,,, they suggested I bring it to my local service center,, the guy there said he talked to a Dewalt service technician and he told him to put the riving knife in a vise and bend it !!!??!! It’s still to the left anyway,, has anyone ever heard of this???

if the knife is above the blade you wont be able to cut anything taller than the blade tho
