Another tip/s with ratcheting stands (or any adj. stand)....Avoid raising the post because doing such makes them less stable. If you need it higher get taller stands. Leave the floor jack under as a 'double jack' as an added safety device.

Is that high enough to pull the motor out, I think last time I had to pull the carbs off

Just a question: if you jack up both rear wheels with the manual transmisson out of gear, should the rear wheels spin with the trans axle system? My camper has been sitting for about 5 years without movement; I cannot get the left rear brake drum off with the left side of the van jacked up (I do not have the right side jacked up..yet).

Yes both rear wheels should spin.

Should I put the van in gear? And put handbrake on? Thanks

If the rear is up and the handbrake is on this will not prevent the bus from possibly moving (rear off ground).
