I'm thinking that torqueing the screws in stages using a crisscross pattern may be a good first step to help keep the screws from loosening. The screws will end up with a more uniform stretch and they will be less likely to back out. Thanks for all the videos. They are a big help keeping my 944 alive.

Pretty fantastic work. In the aviation industry we’ve found that twisting the tail the other way helps keep the wire from coming over the bolt head

Nicely done, as always. Do you have a link to the supplier of the drilled bolts?

Unnecessary, the bolts never come off even if you reuse them multiple times. Torque em and thats it.

We are constantly chasing these bolts on the racecar. It's only 250hp, but the CV jts & M8 bolts were originally spec-ed for 60hp VW T2. Will be adding safety wire to clean/loc-tite/slight overtork that we've been doing.

@@FJ40Jim this is a late reply but try nord lock washers. we use them on our race car for CVs and they have never let us down. as long as it is a metal/metal flange and there is no gasket that can crush over time.

@burn4005 we read that on a 944 forum, have had no problems since adopting XZN bolts & Schnorr washers.
